Mayor Nir Barkat to Participate in the Annual Zalman C. Bernstein Lecture in Jewish Political Thought at Shalem College

The annual Zalman C. Bernstein Lecture in Jewish Political Thought will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at 7 pm, at Shalem College in Jerusalem. Dr. Ido Hevroni, Educational Director of the college, will speak in Hebrew on “Bar Kochba: Myth and Truth,” following welcoming remarks from Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Shalem College President Martin Kramer. The event, which includes a guided tour of the college building and a pre-lecture reception, will also offer the public its first glimpse of the new campus.

The ZCB lecture series, dedicated to advancing the ideas central to the Jewish political tradition, has become a cornerstone of Jerusalem’s intellectual life, and is widely recognized for enriching the public discourse on fields such as Zionism, law, national identity, and education. Past speakers have included ethicist Asa Kasher; philosopher Amitai Etzioni; author Ruth Wisse; and former chief of staff and current Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon.
