Welcome to shalem.ac.il, the Shalem College Web Site (the “site”). These Terms of Use establish the manner in which you may use this site (“User Agreement”), and include the college’s Privacy Policy. Please read both the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy carefully, since visiting and/or using the site obligates you to obey the rules set forth in these Terms of Use.
From time to time, we may modify the User Agreement, including the Privacy Policy; therefore, it is recommended that you regularly review these terms of use in order to verify whether changes have been made. As long as not otherwise stated, your continued use of the site following any modifications indicates your agreement to the change in terms.

Under copyright law, protected material on this site may not be copied, disseminated, transmitted, sold, or published without the prior written consent of Shalem College. Links to the Site, Frames and Meta Tags
No link may be established to the home page of the site in a manner that could portray Shalem College in a false or misleading light. It is prohibited to frame content from the site such that it can be viewed on another Web Site, or to use meta tags or any other hidden text containing the names “Shalem,” “Shalem College,” or “Shalem Center,” or the Trademarks, without our express written consent.
Links to Other Websites
The Shalem College Web Site includes links to other web sites containing information that we believe could be of interest to you, and from which books can be ordered. We have no control over those sites or their content. Please remember, when you click on a link on our site that leads to another web site, you must read the terms of use and the privacy policy of that web site before using it.
Disclaimer
Although Shalem College takes reasonable steps to prevent the infiltration of viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and other destructive material into our site, we do not guarantee or warrant that our site or any material downloaded from it is free from such destructive features. We do not accept any liability or responsibility for damages attributed to such features.
Limitation of Liability
Shalem College and its officers, managers, and employees do not accept any liability or responsibility for any claim, loss, or damage arising from errors, omissions, corruptions, or other inaccuracies on our site, nor for any claim, loss, or damage resulting from your use of the site or failure to comply with any of the terms of this User Agreement.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate this User Agreement, including the Privacy Policy, at any time, without notice and for any reason, including the user’s failure to comply with any of its terms. The sections of this User Agreement pertaining to limitation of liability and application of the law will survive the termination of the agreement.
Application of the Laws of the State of Israel
This User Agreement, including the Privacy Policy, and any related claim or disagreement are subject to the laws of the State of Israel applying to contracts made and performed, without consideration for conflicts between them and the principles of the law. Any legal dispute involving this site will be adjudicated by the Jerusalem District Court.
Severability
If any provision of this agreement is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable for any reason, such provision will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any of the remaining provisions.
Privacy Policy
We are sensitive to your concerns regarding the use and public disclosure of your information. This Privacy Policy describes the way in which we collect online information from users of this site and how we handle this information. This Privacy Policy is part of the User Agreement, which dictates the manner in which this site may be used. By visiting this site, or by providing us with identifiable personal information, you ipso facto accept the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Changes in the Privacy Policy

Collection and Use of Information
This section describes the types of information collected by Shalem College and the purpose for which it is collected.
Personal Identification Information
We collect personal-identification information that you provide to us voluntarily in order to receive our newsletter, as well as to receive information on our programs and other services by email; to register for any of our events; or to make online purchases. We use this personal-identification information solely to fill your requests. When you make purchases through the Shalem College Web Site, we record the buyer’s credit-card details, in addition to his/her name and mailing address, for sending an invoice. We keep these credit-card details on file for the time stipulated by the relevant bank, after which we destroy these details in a secure manner.
Anonymous Information
We automatically collect from our server certain anonymous information, such as the number of visitors to each page of our site, the IP address of the user’s computer, the web browser he uses, and the web sites from which he or she connects to our site.
We also use cookies to monitor the message load in specific areas of our site. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to the hard disk of the user’s computer through his or her browser to enable our systems to identity that particular computer. Cookies can be disabled by choosing the cookie-disabling function in the user’s browser, but this will prevent access to online services provided by Shalem College (e.g., online purchases).
We use all of this anonymous information on an aggregated basis to evaluate how visitors use and navigate our site with the aim of continuously improving user experience. We do not link this anonymous information to any identifiable personal information that was provided by you.
Transferring Information to Israel
If you are located outside Israel, you should be aware that the information you have provided will be transferred to Israel and that by registering on the Site or ordering one of our products or services you agree to such transfer and to the storage, processing and use of the information in Israel and to its transfer to authorized third parties.
Information Sharing
We do not rent or sell your personal-identification information. Shalem College transfers names and email addresses only, and solely to service providers responsible for mailing information. These service providers are required to destroy all personal-identification information following completion of the mailing. If you do not wish for your information to be transferred to these service providers, please contact [email protected],il.
We also transfer personal-identification information to companies that provide us with email-sending or other mailing services, or that maintain the site or assist the college in planning events. These companies use this information solely to provide us with these services.
In the event of the transfer of ownership of Shalem College, e.g., through a merger or acquisition by another organization, or any type of sale, transfer, reorganization, or discontinuation of funding with respect to all or part of our assets, we reserve the right to transfer the personal-identification information in our possession to the acquiring entity. We may disclose and use identifiable personal-identification information under special circumstances, such as when the User Agreement or our Privacy Policy needs to be enforced or when we believe in good faith that the law obligates us to disclose this information to a third party.

Information Security
The identifiable personal information collected by us is stored in a secure, password-protected server. We employ many other precautionary measures, such as the use of suitable communication protocols, to block unauthorized interception of your communications with us, and access to your information is restricted to authorized personnel only. However, no communication over the Internet is one hundred percent secure, and anyone who provides us with identifiable personal information does so on his own responsibility.
