Dr. Yiftach Ofek

Dr. Yiftach Ofek teaches in the Lobel Core Curriculum and the Department of Philosophy and Jewish Thought at Shalem College. His research interests include the intellectual history of the twentieth century, Political Philosophy, the Philosophy of History, and the History of Zionism. His dissertation, “The ‘New Jew’ of Zionist Historiography: The Social Vision and Historical Imagination of Yitzhak Baer, Gershom Scholem, and Yehezkel Kaufmann,” was completed at the University of Chicago (2021). Dr. Ofek also holds a Master’s degree in Political Philosophy (University of Chicago, 2011) and a second Master’s in Jewish History and Culture (Harvard, 2014).
