Prof. Meir Buzaglo

Philosophy & Jewish Thought

Prof. Meir Buzaglo is a member of the Faculty of Philosophy at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Jewish Thought at Shalem College. An expert in the philosophy of mathematics, the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of Judaism, Buzaglo is considered one of Israel’s most important and original thinkers. He has been a member of the National Committee for Teaching Mathematics; a member of the Committee for National Responsibility at the Rabin Center; director of the Misgav Yerushalyaim Institute for Research on Sephardi and Oriental Jewish Heritage at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; a member of the National Committee for Culture and the National Committee for Education; head of the NCJW Research Institute for Innovation in Education; and a trustee of the Avi Chai Foundation. Buzaglo is also a leader of the movement for the renewal of Jewish tradition and liturgical poetry in Israel and led the Tikkun movement for social change.
