Dr. Eliezer Malkiel
Dr. Eliezer Malkiel is a lecturer at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Department of Philosophy), Herzog College in Alon Shvut (Department of Jewish Thought), and at Shalem College (Program for Humanistic Studies). His main areas of expertise and teaching are philosophy of language, philosophy of the spirit, philosophy of the subject/modernity, and ethics. The exemplary figures from the history of philosophy whose writings he reads with his students are Aristotle, G.F.W. Hegel and Ludwig Wittgenstein, alongside various contemporary philosophers from the Anglo-Saxon analytical school such as John McDowell, Iris Murdock, Charles Taylor, Bernard Williams, and Martha Nussbaum. In addition, Dr. Malkiel is mentally and practically invested in the Jewish tradition, as is expressed in his writing.
