Avner Steinmetz

Avner Steinmetz is a doctoral candidate in philosophy at the University of Chicago. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Tel Aviv University. His dissertation, currently in its advanced stages, investigates the nature of self-knowledge and self-deception from both epistemological and ethical perspectives. Drawing on the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre, his research examines the role of emotion in self-knowledge and engages contemporary debates in philosophy of mind and ethics.
