Dr. Nesya Rubinstein-Shemer

Middle East & Islamic Studies

Dr. Nesya Rubinstein-Shemer is a senior lecturer at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel. Her Ph.D dealt with Islamic law of prayer.

Dr. Shemer’s areas of specialization are: Islamic studies, Relations between Judaism and Islam and political Islamic movement such as Hamas and the Islamic movement in Israel.

Her Book: Hamas and Ideology: Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi on the Jews, Judaism and Israel, was published by Routledge, and she publishes articles in her field at various academic platforms.
