התוכנית הבינתחומית בפילוסופיה ובהגות יהודיתקורסים

ג'יימס, יונג וטיליך: על האל (באנגלית)

מרצה:  ד"ר גבריאל סיטרון

This course serves as an introduction to three of the most insightful twentieth century attempts to understand God and the religious life – those of William James, Carl Jung, and Paul Tillich.
By the end of the course you will have made a start in exploring each thinker's distinctive conception of God and religiosity, and the distinctive approaches each of them used in order to develop their positions. For each of these thinkers, understanding God and religiosity is inextricably bound up with certain fundamental existential and psychological issues in our lives. Therefore, gaining an understanding of James’s, Jung’s, and Tillich’s conceptions of God will also involve exploring some core questions about who we are, our deepest needs and how they might be met, and the way of being we should aspire to.
