FEAR NO EVIL:

A Study and Solidarity Mission to Israel

December 25, 2023 - January 4, 2024

An intense, immersive educational experience for undergraduate students about the foundations of what is at stake in the present moment–for Israel, the Jewish people, and the world.

Participants will:

  • Read, analyze, and discuss classical sources on Jewish and Western civilization in small seminars
  • Acquire an informed perspective from leading academic and strategic thinkers on the geopolitical issues driving events in Gaza, Israel, and the Middle East
  • Develop the knowledge to speak about the current conflict on college campuses and to broader audiences in a manner grounded in deep knowledge, intellectual integrity, and an appreciation for diverse viewpoints

The study sessions at the center of this experience will be conducted in English and held on the Shalem College campus in Jerusalem. Participants will also meet with scholars and practitioners involved in setting Israel’s security strategy, IDF officers and soldiers serving their country, social entrepreneurs seeking to address Israelis’ most urgent needs and sustaining its civil society, and thought leaders shaping the discourse in Israel. Participants will also have the opportunity to do volunteer work.

All activities will be carried out in accordance with the safety and security guidelines of the Israeli government. All food served on the program will be Kosher.

Schedule: To see the schedule in formation, click here. Students must arrive in Israel in time for the first session at 8:30 am on December 25, 2023 and stay through the closing dinner on January 4th.

Price: $500, which includes programming, lodging, and meals. Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Need-based scholarships are available.

Deadline for applications: November 29, 2023. Participants will be informed of their acceptance by November 30, 2023. Admissions decisions will be made on a rolling basis. The program is limited to 50 students.
